Darren is a 53-year-old US Citizen born and raised in Miami, and a proud descendant of Native Americans from the Lumbee Tribe. He is currently homeless and cannot work due to physical injuries, including a herniated disc in his back, and mental issues, such as depression and anxiety. He has worked in unskilled labor positions for most of his life and because of his physical problems, he can no longer return to those jobs.
Darren struggles to get through every day and he would benefit greatly from expanded Medicaid. He cannot afford any type of physical therapy at this point.
Darren would be in a much better position to recover from his injuries if he had Medicaid.
