Beatrice Farnsworth is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida. She graduated with her MSW from New York University in 1997. Throughout her career, Beatrice has worked in medical and mental health settings, along interprofessional teams, delivering clinical services in underserved areas of the Bronx, New York, and Miami, Florida.
In January 2014, Beatrice was appointed Social Work faculty for the FIU Green Family Foundation NeighborhoodHELP. She oversees the delivery of services provided by the Social Work Interns to hundreds of clients living in underserved communities of Miami-Dade. Over the years, she has witnessed how limited access to adequate housing and food as well as difficulties accessing healthcare is detrimental to clients’ health and mental health. Beatrice collaborates closely with her interprofessional colleagues and students at the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Law. With her extensive experience in interprofessional work, she models practice behaviors and presents several workshops each year to students from various disciplines. In this setting, Beatrice is able to combine her two passions: Interprofessional education and service to the community.
