Nicole La Roque began her full-time role as a Borchard Fellow with FHJP in 2024, after spending two years as a law clerk on the team during law school. Her two-year statewide fellowship project aims to expand access to home and community-based services (HCBS) for low-income older adults, tackle systemic and administrative barriers to HCBS access, reduce inappropriate nursing home discharges, and increase legal representation for older adults in Medicaid and nursing home discharge fair hearings. Nicole earned a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida, an MSW from Florida Atlantic University, and a J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
