Florida Medicaid plays a critical role in supporting maternal health by providing comprehensive coverage for eligible pregnant and postpartum women. Medicaid covers over 40% of births statewide, ensuring access to essential services for expectant and new mothers, including prenatal visits, labor and delivery, postpartum care, mental health support, and substance use treatment. We successfully advocated for Florida to extend its postpartum Medicaid coverage from two months to 12 months. We continue to work to ensure that eligible individuals have access to this critical coverage, through education, advocacy, and individual representation.
Florida Health Justice Project engages in comprehensive advocacy to expand health care access and promote health equity for vulnerable Floridians.
