About 1 in 6 women of childbearing age is uninsured in Florida. Improving maternal and infant health outcomes depends on consistent access to care before, during, and after pregnancy. Maternal and infant health outcomes are characterized by stark racial disparities. FHJP is working with partners to increase access to culturally-competent midwives and doulas, decrease C-section rates, and address implicit bias among providers.
